This espalier is similar to the Wavy Cord. Provide a sturdy espalier construction, to create tight curves that are regularly spaced. A neat execution is important for a neat appearance. Irregularities are more noticeable if you plant a whole row of this espalier.
The Zigzag Cord has a stronger tendency to form strong growth shoots on the tight bends (‘elbows’) than a Wavy Cord.
