Description

A row of pointed-ovate palmettes without overlap.
At first glance the espalier shapes appear to overlap, but that is not the case!

Features:

  • series of pointed-ovate palmettes
  • without overlap between the espalier shapes

This pattern looks stylish and is relatively easy to make.

Opinion

This espalier has crossing framework branches and that is in principle undesirable. Please note that the space distribution (lighting) is sub-optimal in places where the framework branches cross each other. In those places more shoot thinning (or thinning of fruiting seats) is necessary, so that the remaining shoots receive sufficient sunlight.

The number of crossings of framework branches of this espalier form is relatively limited.
