Features of the espalier form:
- combination of 2 or more espalier fruit trees
- combination can consist of 1 or 2 espalier shapes
Note: Mirrored espalier shapes are considered the same espalier shape. - combination may consist of:
- fruitwood is grown short on the stem branch
Opinion
Combining two espalier forms offers advantages in specific cases:
- the contrast between two different slate shapes ensures that they reinforce each other
- the interplay of two espalier forms can produce harmonious combinations, with increased aesthetic value
When planting multiple trees, always double-check the planting distance.
The planting distance depends on the planned, final espalier shape!
