The framework branches originate at the same height at the bottom of the trunk and grow in an arcuate manner to a single central point above the base of the trunk.

Features of standard tree:

• framework branches form one spherical shape
  
  • framework branches originate at the base of the trunk
  • each frame branch is guided in the shape of a semicircle
  • framework branches are in at least 2 vertical planes
  • framework branches meet at one central point directly above the base of the trunk
• central branch usually absent
• fruit wood is grown close to the framework branches
