Description

A large 3D espalier that resembles a Lily-shaped Tulip (Tulipa viridiflora). The number of framework branches is large, often 8-16 pieces.

Features of standard tree:

  • framework branches trained in the shape of a lily-shaped tulip:
    • a large number of framework branches emerge from the bottom of the trunk via double T-junctions
    • framework branches grow vertically, parallel, at regular intervals, with a circular basal surface
    • espalier form requires a permanent espalier construction
  • fruit wood is grown quite close to the framework branch

Note: Variants with (partly) horizontally running framework branches are also possible.

This is a modern design; a few centuries ago this design did not exist.
