Description
Espalier with a single cord that is zigzag-guided.
The zigzag-shape naturally curdles the juice flow. This has two advantages:
- The growth in the head is suppressed.
- Vegetative growth and flower bud formation (fruiting) are evenly distributed along the frame branch.

Advice
Fairly easy to grow; easy to maintain. Very suitable for apple and pear. Similar to wave-shaped cord. A zigzag shape (with right angles) is a bit more difficult to form than a (more even) wave-shaped cord. The tree also tends to form strong growth shoots on tight bends.
