Specific Applications
With stone fruit , one trunk is often kept ( tree shape ).
With fig , multiple trunks are often kept ( shrub ).
Advice
A fan with a middle branch is easy to manage (requires little knowledge), but cannot really be regarded as an espalier because symmetry is often lacking. Fairly good productive.
Recommended for frost-sensitive fruits (such as figs ) against a south wall.
